Following its Australian relaunch last year, Toshiba has announced its new 55-inch 4K Android TV (AUD 1499) will land at Harvey Norman later this month.
Taking on the likes of Chinese-based Hisense and TCL, Toshiba claims the TV offers premium features at an affordable price.
The brand is currently distributed in Australia by Powermove, who lost audiophile sound brand Klipsch last year.
Commentators claim Toshiba has struggled to gain traction in Australia, leading to its exit from the local market nearly four years ago.
The new 55-inch 4K Toshiba TV [55U9850] features built-in Chromecast, and supports Google Assistant voice controls. The 4K HDR screen complements Dolby Audio.
Freeview Plus will be pre-installed on the TV, accompanying three HDMI ports, two USB slots, a headphone out port, plus both Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity.
The news follows the rise of 4K TVs in Australia, coupled with the launch of Foxtel’s Channel 444: Australia’s first 4K satellite TV channel. – Channel News
