Sony Promoting Its Crystal LED Display Products In Taiwan

Sony has geared up its efforts to promote its ultra large-size Crystal LED (CLED) displays in the Taiwan market, targeting the premium large-size display segment for customized applications in the fields including commercial buildings, galleries and fashion exhibitions, according to industry sources.

Sony claimed that its spliced CLED display products, built based on micro LED technology, enable the delivery of high dynamic contrast HDR images with 4K or 8K ultra-high resolutions, 140% sRGB wide color gamut and at a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio.

Unveiled the technology since 2017, Sony have shipped its ultra large-size CLED displays to clients including Google, Fox Sport, NTT DoCoMo, Honda, Shiseido and China Eastern Airlines over the past two years.

However, sources in Taiwan’s display supply chain said that the delivery lead time for a 110-inch spliced CLED display could reach as long as three months with a price tag of about NT$15 million (US$486,630).―Digitimes
