Officials at electronics maker Sharp have announced they will tour Japan with their ultra-high-definition 8K TVs to introduce the technology to the public.
Sharp will deploy 4 vans each equipped with an 80-inch-screen television. The vehicles will travel around the country for sales events until March. This comes ahead of the start of 4K and 8K programing in Japan by NHK and commercial TV stations in December.
Naoki Kato of Sharp said, “We always get great reactions from customers who see 8K TV for the first time. We hope this campaign will mean more people can experience it. Sharp will become first in the world to sell 8K TVs with built-in tuners. — NHK World
