This year at the Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin, one of the oldest industrial exhibitions in Germany, Liebherr refrigerators showcased some of their innovative technologies from the field of refrigeration.
Speaking from the exhibition, Steffen Nagel, Managing Director of the Sales & Marketing division of Liebherr-Hausgeräte GmbH, described the event as “a great platform for mutual inspiration and productive exchange, the IFA has again provided us with an excellent opportunity to showcase current themes and innovative products from the field of refrigeration and freezing. Liebherr’s focus was on customer-oriented solutions and value-added communication, for example, with market freshness for the home.”
These days, customers from New Zealand to India to Canada want greater everyday convenience from modern fridges and freezers, as well as longer food-storage times. Liebherr’s tradition of German engineering excellence has led to technologies such as BioFresh or DuoCooling, which mean that food waste is avoided, and endless shopping trips become a thing of the past. A positive side effect is that customers save valuable time and money.
Liebherr also presented at the exhibition some sophisticated and thoughtful features, appealing designs, and state-of-the-art technology for fridges and freezers to fulfil every customer requirement.
An example of this is the convenient and ergonomic Spice Box, designed especially for Indian customers, based on a study of the local cuisines. Spices, of course, are an integral part of almost every Indian recipe and yet they are not always easy to store. This Spice Box optimizes the preservation of spices and helps the Indian customer make the most of their spices. It is but one of many similar thoughtful and relevant touches that Liebherr has introduced in India as it does across the world.
In the future, Liebherr will focus greater attention on the themes of open innovation and co-innovation. The Ochsenhausen-based fridge and freezer manufacturer is seeking to involve customers, suppliers, business partners, and students to an even greater extent in the development and communication process and take their wishes into account. The aim is to open up and expand the innovation process by coming up with new ideas for products, services, and business models.
The extremely positive feedback received on Liebherr products and the brand presentation over the six days of the IFA was reflected in the many promising discussions, and not the least in well-filled order books.
Steffen Nagel further added, “For us, the IFA remains an excellent business platform that allows us to talk to both professional experts and interested technology enthusiasts. After all, they also form the basis of our success.”
Liebherr is planning to showcase newer ideas and innovations in the field of refrigeration and freezing at next year’s IFA in Berlin. By then, who knows what new refrigerator models and features Indians will benefit from!
