Samsung India announced that its growth in washing machine segment is expected between 12 to 15 percent in the current financial year against the overall market growth in this segment was between 7 to 10 percent.
Talking to reporters after the launch of revolutionary top load washing machine with the innovative and Make for India ActivWash+ concept, powered by a highly energy efficient digital inverter motor, Maneesh Sharma, Deputy General Manager (Consumer Electronics Business), said that overall washing machine market was 65 lakh units per annum and in which 35 lakhs are semi automated, 23 lakhs are top load washing machine and front load are 8 lakh.
The company’s current market share in this segment was 32 percent and with this new launch, we expected to grab 3 percent more in this fiscal, he claimed and said that our market share in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana was 36 percent while in Hyderabad alone was 40 percent market share in washing machine segment.
The new digital inverter motor consumes 40 percent less energy while producing minimal noise and vibration, when the washing machine is running, he said the new top load washing machine uses a unique direct drive technology, with no Belt and Pulley Mechanism unlike other top loads, thereby providing the best durability.
The inverter series also comes with stainless steel pulsator, which offers complete hygiene and is corrosion resistant, he also claimed and said there will be 10 models in this new inverter series, with a capacity range of 6.5 kg, 7 kg, 7.5 kg and 16 kg. The price range starts from Rs 24,990 and available in four variant colors.
