Samsung Electronics Co.’s premium TV sets won numerous awards at this year’s Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) exposition in San Diego, industry sources said Sunday.
The event held earlier in the month was attended by some 500 companies from around the world from the video and audio sector, with around 2,000 experts in home automation, displays and lighting fields also converging to discuss the latest trends.
Market watchers said Samsung’s latest 8K quantum dot light-emitting diodes (QLED) TV, The Wall modular micro-LED display system and The Frame sets received a total of six awards from CEDIA organizers and global electronics reviewers and media outlets.
The tech companies 8K QLED was tapped as the best product by AVS Forum, a technology discussion site for experts, while U.S. IT outlet Residential Tech Today picked it as its “editor’s choice” product.
Samsung’s The Wall that made a splash when it was first unveiled was recognized as the best new audio and video product in the home theater sector at CEDIA, with CE Pro, another leading electronics media organization, lauding it as one of the best displays with growth potential.
In addition, the South Korean company’s The Frame, which turns the TV set into a screen that shows works of art when no one is watching, won the EXC!TE Award from Technology Integrator.
Besides individual products, Samsung secured the best booth award by organizers of the event held in southern California from Sept. 6-8. ― Yonhapnews.
