Public broadcaster Prasar Bharati has invited applications from devotional (spiritual/AYUSH channels) channels for allotment of slots of free direct-to-home (DTH) platform DD Free Dish for the period June 1, 2019 to February 29, 2020, through 40th online e-auction process.
Doordarshan will conduct the e-auction from May 22, 2019 to fill Bucket R1 MPEG-2 slots of DD Free Dish. The e-auction will be conducted in accordance with addendum/amendment to policy guidelines for allotment of slots of DD Free Dish notified on March 30.
Only devotional (spiritual/AYUSH channels) licensed by the ministry of information and broadcasting (MIB) would be allowed to participate in the 40th online e-auction.
Only companies holding valid permission from MIB or their authorised distributor partners can apply for allocation of DD Free Dish slot. If the bidder company is other than a channel license holder, the letter/agreement signed between the license-holder company and the distributor company, authorising the bidder for distribution of the channel and bidding on behalf of the channel, must be submitted.
Reserve price for allotment of Bucket R1 slots of DD Free Dish is `2.25 crore. The last date for submission of applications is May 20, latest by 3 pm.
Broadcasters desirous of allotment of Bucket R1 slots on DD Free Dish are required to provide clear and unambiguous proof in support of genre classification of their channel. In case of lack of clarity, ambiguity, or conflicting information, applications will be deemed ineligible and may be summarily rejected.
