Ministry of Electronics & IT observes Swachhta Pakhwada from 1st to 15th Feb, 2022

Swachhta Pakhwada was observed by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) from 1st to 15th Feb, 2022 with great zeal and enthusiasm. A day-wise Action plan was prepared for implementation by MeitY and its Organizations, which consisted of both motivational and physical activities. Secretary, MeitY, held VC/Meeting to review the preparedness before the Swachhta Pakhwada on 27.01.2022 and administered Pledge, through video conferencing to all the officers and staff under MeitY on 01.02.2022. An inaugural message was also delivered.

The “E-Waste Pledge” was launched by MyGov on 01.02.2022. A dedicated campaign page for Pakhwada 2022 was created on comprising of the links of activities. Lectures on “Plastic Waste Management & Ban on Single-Use Plastic (SUP); “EWaste Crisis — Management, Planning and Implementation”; and “Solid and Liquid Waste Management and Importance and Necessity of General Cleanliness” etc. were organized to apprise about the importance of hygiene and how to keep the premises neat and clean. National level workshops on “E-waste” were organized by most of the Societies/Organizations of MeitY. E-waste and Storage items are disposed-off through auction by MeitY and its Organizations. MeitY had also undertaken cleaning activities in the vicinity of residential colony complexes, Schools etc.

A Committee was constituted for recommendations of the three prizes for the best Campuses. Recommendation has been received recommending awards to those who have contributed the maximum to the cause of sanitation based on rating and ranking. The committee has also given emphasis to innovative/creative activities and initiatives, mass mobilization for Swachhata etc. which have deep and sustainable impact. Swachhata Pakhwada culminated on 15.02.2022. The three best MeitY Institutes as recommended by the Committee have been awarded the (First, Second and Third) prizes.
