LG has announced the launch of the world’s first rollable TV, available now at 7 consumer electronics stores throughout South Korea for KRW 100 million, around EUR 75,000. First unveiled at trade shows including MWC 2019 and CES 2019, the 65-inch LG Signature Oled R (model RX) is described by the company as “the most innovative development in television technology in decades”. The flexible OLED screen rolls up from an aluminium base that can be personalised with an engraving. The speaker covers are available in 4 shades of covering – Signature Black, Moon Gray, Topaz Blue or Toffee Brown, said LG.
In a short statement, the company added that the flexible screen can retract partially or fully into its base, adapting to different aspect ratios, and comes with self-lighting pixel technology plus individual dimming control to deliver the highest picture quality.-Telecom Paper
