Kent RO Systems has chalked out an expansion plan as it looks to grow its business of purifiers and appliances. The company plans to do business worth over Rs 950 crore in 2018-19, up from Rs 850 crore a year ago, supported by new capacity.
“We have invested Rs 125 crore to set up a new unit at Noida which will be operational soon. This will boost our manufacturing capability, which is currently based out of our plant at Roorkee. The Roorkee unit has a production capacity of 6 lakh RO (reverse osmosis) units per annum, besides other appliances,” said Mahesh Gupta, chairman and managing director of Kent RO Systems Ltd.
“There is plan for another facility at Noida and we have taken up land. But that project would take around 4-5 years,” Gupta said. He was in the city to introduce a new range of water purifiers.
The size of the water purifier market is around Rs 6,000 crore. Besides established players such as Eureka Forbes and Kent, there are new entrants such as Havells India. — Telegraphindia
