Innolux has said that it does not rule out the possibility of building up manufacturing facilities for TVs in India to enhance its deployment in the local TV market, according to company sources.
The strategy is moving forward in line with the “Make in India” initiative and aims to establish a comprehensive business line stretching from manufacturing to channel, the sources said.
In fact, in order to penetrate into the TV market in India, Innolux created a new business unit, India Business Center, in October 2018 and appointed its vice chairman Robert Hsiao to head the center.
The company also resumed production of complete TV sets in 2018, accepting OEM/ODM orders from clients, including Sharp, Vizio and Funai, currently.
Innolux’s shipments of OEM/ODM TVs totaled about 2.8-3.0 million units in 2018, and the company targets to ship 5-6 million units in 2019, according to industry sources.―Digitimes
