2020 has been the most challenging year in our 25 years of retail business. We have even survived the brunt of e-commerce, but the pandemic ensued with economic disruptions has put all our conventional strategies to rest.

Sales from our counter during the initial 2 months once the lockdown opened were extremely underwhelming with a de-growth of about 45 percent. It is since August that we are experiencing the release of pent-up demand in our region. However, our loyal customer base is gradually making a shift to e-commerce shopping. In an attempt to counter this challenge, we are developing our own portal, besides facilitating the customers with tele-shopping. The markets are currently so volatile that what the scenario will be in 2021 cannot be predicted. All we can hope for is some normalcy for the brick-and-mortar business models in the upcoming year.
