Johnson Controls – Hitachi Air-Conditioning India Ltd. (JCH-IN) has promoted Gurmeet Singh as chairman and managing director. He is the first Indian to become the chairman and managing director of the India unit of the joint venture of global air conditioning majors – Johnson Controls, US and Hitachi, Japan. Starting February 1, 2018, Gurmeet has taken the reins from Franz Cerwinka, Chairman, JCH-IN and Global CEO, JCH. He was previously managing director of the company.
Gurmeet has a diversified experience in various industries like FMCG and consumer durables (TVs, fans, ACs, refrigerators, and washing machines). Currently, he is also the president of RAMA (Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Manufacturers Association) and executive committee member of CEAMA (Consumer Electronics and Appliances Manufacturers Association). He had also been awarded the Man of Appliances award by CEAMA for his contribution to the appliances industry. He has been working closely with ISHRAE to promote their student engagement program, AQUEST for the last 3 years.
