Foxconn Electronics ranked the top ODM TV maker in August with shipments increasing 7.4 percent on year to 1.45 million units, buoyed by orders from Sony, according to data from China-based Sigmaintell Consulting.
TPV Technology took the second position with its ODM TV shipments reaching 1.29 million units in August, up 17.3 percent sequentially on increased orders from overseas clients. But the shipment figures were down 21.8 percent from a year earlier.
TCL SCBC ranked third with shipments increasing 23.6 percent on year to 1.1 million units thanks to orders for 32-inch TVs from Xiaomi, said the market research firm.
HKC saw its shipments rise 97.6 percent on year to 840,000 units in August, taking the fourth title in the month. The company’s major clients include Xiaomi and Haier.
BOE Vison-Electronic Technology (BOEVT) ranked fifth as its shipments slipped 13.6 percent on year to 810,000 units in the month, as the company has shifted its focus on high-margin products.
For other major TV ODMs, CNC (Chunghsin Industrial Group) August shipments were down 45% on year to 730,000 units; AMTC saw shipments up 21 percent to 700,000 units; and KTC Technology ramped up its shipments by 38 percent to 620,000 units.
Express Luck Industrial and Amtran Technology saw their shipments gain 2 percent and 48 percent on year to 370,000 and 270,000 units, respectively, in August.— Digitimes
