E-commerce site Flipkart has teased the launch of a Nokia branded device to turn any TV into a Smart TV. The company has posted about the same on social media platform Twitter. “Something exciting is coming to make your TV smarter and better without upgrading your TV. What could it be? Watch this space for updates”, read Flipkart’s post on Twitter.
The post also has a small video about 10 second long that lists out features that one may expect with the upcoming device. As teased, the upcoming hardware device may come with Chromecast built-in, Android 9 Pie, Google Assistant support and OTT apps support. One may also expect Dolby Audio support with the upcoming device.
In December last year, Flipkart entered a brand licensing partnership with Nokia to launch a smart TV running Android 9.0 operating system. Launched at Rs 41,999, the Nokia-branded TV from Flipkart offers a 55-inch 4K panel with speakers tuned by JBL.
As far as content is concerned, the Nokia TV offered support for all popular streaming platforms out-the-box and it is expected that this device will also provide the same. – The Times Of India
