Exports, e-comm play key role in making India reliable global manufacturing partner, MoS IT

The Minister of State (MoS) for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that exports, e-commerce and logistics play an important role in entrusting India as a reliable manufacturing partner worldwide.

Speaking at the opening session of Amazon Smbhav 2022 event, Mos called India as a rapidly emerging leader in manufacturing, exports, and e-commerce and logistics infrastructure.

Talking about India’s journey in adopting digital technologies owing to the pandemic, he said, “Since the lockdown digital technologies and digitally empowered enterprises have helped rebound our economy and helped transform the Indian economy to one of the fastest-growing economies, and one of the most digitally enabled economies in the world.”

Highlighting India’s potential, he said that Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs) can play a big role in the coming years to provide goods and services to the world.

Emphasising on workforce dominance of SMEs and their large percentage of employment opportunities and jobs, the MoS said that their ability to grow and access multiple markets is an important element of policymaking for the government.

He underlined the responsibilities of larger platforms like Amazon and the power to do good to the SMBs of India, as they can help them connect the SMBs of India to markets that Amazon today services all around the world. KNN India
