Discovery Communications India is strengthening its play in the video content business as it launches four mobile-first channels in 2018. The new channels will be launched in partnership with video-streaming platforms such as YouTube, Reliance Jio, and Vodafone Play. These four channels will be in areas such as military, girlist, automotive, and food. The first two channels – Veer by Discovery and Rise by TLC – will come into force by the first quarter of 2018. In the first year, Veer by Discovery and Rise by TLC will offer consumers over 100 hours of original content in India. The mobile-first channels from DCIN will have bespoke digital-first, mid-form, and short-form content.
