Carrier Adds VRF For Rooftops

Toshiba Carrier has introduced a VRF system allowing multiple rooftop units and additional VRF fan coil units to be connected to one condensing unit.

The Toshiba Carrier VRF Rooftop is said to be able to utilize existing roof curbs and ductwork and can be installed without running refrigerant piping into the building. The VRF Rooftop also has economizer capability to bring in outside air, and when used in conjunction with CO2 sensors, helps with building codes and standards compliance.

Available in 3-, 4- and 5-ton capacities, the Toshiba Carrier VRF Rooftop is said to be ideal for both new construction and retrofit projects.

With the same footprint as installed Carrier 3-5 ton rooftops dating back to 1989, installation costs and time can be reduced and is field convertible from vertical to horizontal airflow for slab mounting.―Cooling Post
