AUO denies shutting down China plant

AUO has dismissed reports claiming that its plant in Kunshan, China has been ordered to halt operations after one of its Taiwanese employees there was tested positive for COVID-19.

AUO disclosed the employee, who returned from China on October 11, was confirmed coronavirus-positive on October 13, but he is now receiving treatment at a hospital and in good conditions.

The Kunshan plant, in cooperation with the local government, conducted a comprehensive testing for all of its employees on the evening of October 13, and all of them were normal, AUO said, noting that the results have enabled the plant to continue operating as usual.

AUO said its plants in Taiwan are unaffected by the case, as the employee did not enter the company’s local facilties after returning.-Digi Times
